Chi Omega Dude's Day 2022

The Chi Omega dudes took over Iowa City this weekend for our annual dude’s day! This past Saturday, all of the special guys in our life, whether it be dads, brothers, grandpas, boyfriends, stepdads, got to come together at the Chi Omega house for a day of bags tournaments, chicken wings, and more! This was the second event planned by our lovely Directors: Claire Enyart and Libby Pavon.

“Planning Dude’s Day was such a fun and rewarding experience! We got the opportunity to bring Chi Omegas and their dads/guests together for a bags tournament! My favorite part of Dude’s Day is getting to see everyone’s love for their guests– it makes all of the planning worthwhile.” - Libbie Pavon, PC ‘19

The main event for the day was the major bags tournament happening on the front lawn. Complete with a winners and losers bracket, we saw some great competition throughout the day! After hours of playing, Abby Roberts and her dad snagged the title once again, making them back-to-back champions!

“Hanging out with my dad and playing bags is something we have always enjoyed doing together, and being alongside my sisters and their dudes makes it a day to remember.” -Abby Roberts, PC ‘21

“Thank you to all the Chi Omega sisters and staff for putting on a wonderful dads/dudes day 2022. A good time was had by all. The weather was outstanding, the food was tasty, and the bags were flying in all different directions. Also thanks to the staff at Brown Deer Golf Club for hosting the Sunday golf event. What a beautiful course. What a great opportunity to meet and greet the Chi O girls and the men that have influenced their lives… you have done a phenomenal job raising these young women. Looking forward to next year's event!” - Steve Roberts (Abby’s Dad)

“Dude’s Day is one of my favorite events and no matter the outcome of the bags tournament, my dad and I always have so much fun! Also I love seeing my dad make friends with everyone too!” - Reese Rosenmeyer, PC ‘21

In addition to the bags tournament, you can’t hold any great event without great food! Special shoutout to Marcos grilled cheese for bringing their cart right to the Chi O lawn, serving up incredible grilled cheeses and quesadillas all day, and The Vine for catering more chicken wings and french fries than we could eat! Overall, it was a great day to see Chi O’s hangout with their special dudes and meet the men who raised these wonderful women we get to call sisters.
