Cheering on Our Sisters in Kinnick Stadium as They Win the Football Championship
Chi Omegas have been having a blast on various intramural teams together, and it was a blast finishing out the year in Kinnick Stadium as our women won the Football Championship!
“Playing intramurals not only bonded me closer with girls in my pledge class but with older girls in the chapter as well. It was such a fun way to destress from a hard workload at school with some of the funniest girls I know! We shared many laughs and made so many good memories throughout our season, and playing at Kinnick with the support of so many Chi O girls in the stands really made me realize how truly lucky I am to be part of such an amazing chapter.” -Meredith Monson
“I am so happy to finish out my senior year on this winning team! I loved being able to get to know younger members through intramurals and I am so lucky to call these women my sisters. Chi Omega’s are leaders, competitors, scholars, and now flag football champions! Being on this flag football team is easily one of my favorite memories from senior year and playing on Kinnick with my best friends was such an unbelievable experience I will cherish forever.” - Elle Weilbrenner
“I am so beyond happy I was able to be a part of this team. This team represents everything it means to be a Chi Omega. The leadership, laughs, and love we had not only for each other but the game is so special. I was able to meet new members as well as grow relationships with older members I had met previously. This was such an incredible experience and I am so grateful I was able to do it with my sisters by my side (literally).” - Anjali Shah
“I’m so grateful for the opportunity to bond with all of the flag football girls this fall. Being able to meet some of our new members and become closer with some of the older girls helped to make us all grow closer. I had such a great time laughing and cheering on other girls throughout the season, and am already so excited for next fall!” - Tasha Gilkison
Reese Rosenmeyer: “As a new member of Chi Omega, I didn't know very many members when I joined Flag Football. Throughout the season I’ve gotten to know our team so well and can truly say I love and look up to every person on the team so much! I was pushed to be the best version of myself and I know the rest of my time in Chi Omega will follow suit. I’m so lucky I have the best support system not only when on the field, but for anything life throws at me.”
Natalie Christensen - “There’s nothing better than finding out who all of my competitive sisters are and joining as one to play flag football. As a senior I am so so sad it took nearly 4 years to get involved with intramurals, but I will never forget the fun I had getting to play with and against so many of my amazing sisters”
In addition to two flag football teams, Chi O’s participated in soccer and volleyball as well!
“I am so happy I decided to join a soccer intramural team. Playing with my sisters helped me get to know them better and connect in a competitive atmosphere. We may have only got one win under our belt but I wouldn’t change it for the world. Playing with these girls was such an amazing experience” - Sami Albertson
“What a fun group of ladies to spend Tuesday night with. A lot of these girls I did not know personally before playing with them and now I consider them all my friends. Uniting together through our first loss, the first goal, and then first win was so much fun. Regardless of the score at the end of the game, I left the field with a smile on my face because of the amazing ladies I got the privilege to play with. I would highly recommend joining intramurals.” - Megan Kurth-
“I am so glad I joined intramurals with these gals! They are truly so much fun to be around and so encouraging. Over the course of the short season we had, we improved so much and it was so exciting to notice it! I always left the fields smiling and laughing, it was so nice to have some fun away from school. Intramurals can definitely bring you closer to your sisters, I highly recommend joining! - Anna Zucker
