Chi Omega Annual Golf Classic 2021
Bright and early Sunday morning we kicked off our final event of Dad’s Weekend and Wish Week: The CHI OMEGA GOLF CLASSIC! Golf Classic is our annual 9 hole golf outing where we caddy for our dads and special guys, with all the proceeds donated to Make-A-Wish.
This year we played at Brown Deer Golf Club in Coralville and had over 125 golf participants! Both the dads and Chi Omegas had a blast! David Weilbrenner, the father of Chi Omega members Elle and Emma Weilbrenner said, “I had a great time at the golf classic this year. It was well organized and I had the opportunity to golf with two other great Chi Omega dads. Best of all, I was able to golf and spend time with my two Chi O daughters Elle and Emma!”
One of our new members, Kate Moore, enjoyed her first year at Golf Classic with her dad! She said, “I had a BLAST getting to caddy for my dad for the first time! It was super cool for me to get to watch my dad golf and he was so excited to get to meet some other dads of the girls I have recently got closer with in Chi O! We all had so much fun together!”
In addition to our Chi O Caddies, we had a few charity hole volunteers set up throughout the course with fun challenges for the golf participants. One of our charity hole volunteers, Taylor Boyd, said, “At the charity hole, Jordian Cook and I got the chance to meet so many generous golfers that were willing to donate to our philanthropy Make-A-Wish. It was a fun way to implement a golf competition between the dads and raise more money for our philanthropy. Golf classic is one of my favorite volunteering opportunities of the year!”
Thank you everyone for helping make Golf Classic such a success!!! We raised over $3800 for Make-A-Wish which is amazing!!
Also a shout out to the Albertsons for getting the lowest best shot score of the day with an impressive score of 29!
A huge thank you to Golf Classic Director Ciara Feldman, her Chairs Jordian Cook, Izzy Johnson, and Maggie Landherr, and all of the volunteers who helped throughout the day!!
Golf Classic was the final event of Wish Week, which we are so proud to have raised over $8,800! This brings our total raised as a chapter so far in 2021 to over $16,000. You can read about the read of Wish Week on the blog linked below!
